Baby minus 1
Blanks are in great shape paint well
-
Quality
The blanks were not very clear they had a brown tint, if I didn’t paint the bill it wouldn’t be no big deal.

Fantastic results
I probably use 1 minus baits a little different than most people...for REDFISH! I bought a few of these and wish I had bought more. I painted most of them transparent "tequila" (light brown/yellow) and "caribe blue" noses. Took one to the marsh in Southeast Louisiana and whacked the reds, two were 28 1/2" pumpkins. After catching (and releasing most) 8 reds like that, there's a couple small scratches and I have to replace the rear hook, but that has nothing to do with this lure blank. Not an issue. Runs true and wobbles like the real deal, able to use it even in those shallow grassy marsh ponds where the 9 pound reds reside and it'll flat yank em out. Only complaint is I came to the site to order more and they're out of stock. Y'all hurry!

• Baby 1 style blank 2 1/4"
Had some early on issues with the the blank, after being painted and fished, taking on water. After reviewing a You Tube about Strike King's manufacturing process, it occurred to us these were seconds; some of the eyelets were indeed loose and could be wiggled by your finger. (Blanks that did not pass the pressure pot test.) Using nitrile gloves, our solution was to run the blank, briefly, through an acetone bath. After a 15 minute dry time all of the eyelets solidified in the blank. In addition we took care to use GEL superglue around each eyelet to further seal these weak points. Previous to these efforts we could draw a "vacuum" by mouth at these weak points. (I don't have a pressure pot) By and large the acetone bath solved the vacuum problem with a few exceptions during testing. The painted lures have caught Bass from the start and swim just fine. While there were some extra steps to tune the blank, I would have liked to know what I was buying in advance. This particular lure has been my most favorite lure for over 30 years, I have caught 1000's of fish with it. I live in northern Illinois and early March testing with the newly painted blanks only confirms; it works! I would give 5 stars if I didn't have to re-engineer the construction. I will buy more. I painted one for a buddy and he's caught over a dozen fish in 2 weeks. I've been painting blanks for 2 months. Mark Oldenburg

Lure works very well, even highly painted (heavy) lures. My daughter and I caught 2 Bass each using lures I painted 3/16/2022 in Illinois. A fellow came by and told us the pond experienced a total kill the year before. Our fish were 12-14 inches long. Go figure. Been fishing this lure for 30 years. Love painting my own.

Minus 1 blanks
I've fished the original minus 1 lures since they came out. Now I paint my own. At this point they've been exactly what I had hoped. They take paint very well. I use createx and wicked colors. I use devcon 2 ton 30 minute epoxy. If I could rate these more than 5 stars I would.

Great bait
This Baby 1-minus style bait is very much like the original in body shape and action. Except for the obvious seems it's very difficult to tell it's not reel. It paints up nicely in all of the patterns I have created.
